Hsing Tian Kong Beitou Branch

Fresh air

A popular temple in the region. Peaceful ambient.

This is a branch temple of the Hsing Tian Kong (行天宮) in downtown Taipei. It is quite easy to miss the small road leading up to the temple from Zhongyang Beilu (中央北路), so remember to make a turn at the Xintiandi Kindergarden (新天地幼兒園). The temple is beautifully located a little ways up the mountain, be prepared to climb some rather steep steps. Xingtian Temple is probably my favorite temple in Taipei, because of the beautiful view over the Beitou plain and the total lack of incense smoke or ritual offerings which provides a quiet, very clean and rather meditative atmosphere. The temple offers a number of free services, most importantly exorcism rituals (收驚). If you are in need of an exorcism ritual, this is the place to go. You can also bring an item of clothing for a loved one unable to attend in person. Upon leaving the temple, you will find a small stall on the right selling excellent pigs blood on a stick (豬血糕), highly recommended!

Amazing temple and feng shui

Temple is located 12 kilometers away from the city center, which allows for a peace and serenity you can’t find in Taipei city. Sitting on top of a hill you also have a nice mountain backdrop with the green trees prominent in the background. Great place to get away from the city and pray. Went on Chinese New Year and the crowds were still very manageable.

It's a Beitou branch of Xingtian Temple (which is in the downtown area). It's less crowded. You can enjoy your time here with less people around. There is a hiking trail nearby, go up and get a better view :)
