Hua Shan Din by Cosmos Creation

A modern hotel which is converted from a former bank premise. Hence, you can find themes of giant solid safe door and fire-proof safes. There are even gold ingots which I hope it is real. Even the drinking cups in our room are golden colour. From ZhongXiao Xinsheng MRT station Exit 1, it is about 4 minutes walk. Coming out from exit 1, you will see the ZhongXiao Primary School on your right. Just walk straight. The hotel is facing the main road. Opposite the back of the hotel is the Hua Shan 1914 Creative Park. Many eateries and cafes within walking distance in this vibrant ZhongXiao area. We booked the Standard Triple room with breakfast through the hotel website. Total cost is TWD7400 for 2 nights. No window. Room is adequately big enough for 3 adults. 3 single beds which are comfortable to sleep on. Usual amenities are provided with 3 complimentary bottled water. Open concept wardrobe. Card security not only applied at room but also on the main glass door entry. Wifi speed is acceptable. There are even 2 DIY washing machines located at the ground floor near the breakfast room. The shower room and toilet are separated with the face washing basin located outside. Very rarely I find such configuration in a hotel. I think it is a very good and practical idea. You are given gold coins instead of coupons for your breakfast. It is fine and satisfying breakfast which mainly focused on Taiwanese cuisine like porridge, braise pork rice and noodle. Bread, salad and fruit are available. 2 small toasters provided which cannot cope with the demand. I was disappointed to find some rotten lettuce on my salad plate. Check-in/out is straight forward.

I had a wonderful stay at Hua Shan Din at Taipei last time, located next to Hua Shan 1914 Creative Park, 1 minute walk from Zhongxiao Xinshang MRT Station. It was a vault of First Commercial Bank so you can see the hotel has a lot of vault theme design decorations and goods, interesting and it has some fun spots for photo taking inside. Room is very nice! Simple yet cozy, the bed is a bit hard, not too soft, very cozy. The most impressive part is they have both soft and hard pillows. I need to sleep with hard pillows and I had good sleeps here. Service is great, I like their Taiwanese congee at their buffet breakfast. Definitely will come back next time!

We arrived on a Thursday. Checking in was fast and easy. Staff was very friendly. The room was big compared to those in Ximending. There were many universal plugs and USB ports located around the room. The toilet and the bathroom are separated. The toilet came with a bidet which makes it a better choice than toilet paper. (In Taiwan, most toilets you have to throw your toilet paper in a bin provided instead of flushing down the toilet bowl) The breakfast was disappointing with its limited selection. It was the same selection for all 4 days we stayed in the hotel. The choices were porridge, rice, noodles, some breads and salads. The hotel is located near the MTR (about 5 mins walk) and the Huashan creative district is just opposite the hotel. I do recommend a visit if you have time. Another point to the hotel favor. We experienced our first earthquake (8-Aug-19) during our first night. We were in a panic and the hotel staff was going around the rooms to reassure us within a few minutes after the quake.

Probably put this at a 4.5 stars. Rooms are great - clean, and funky interiors. Free bottled water and even some local biscuits. Situation in a good area close to MRT and close to Syntrend if you're into some electronics / gadgets! Staff is friendly and accomodating. Great value for money, the only slight negative is the breakfast - limited selection and just mediocre quality - but not a dealbreaker by far.

The gold vault was thoughtfully rebuilt into a hotel with good attention to details, with gold coins/vault themed decorations. Even though there were not a lot of facilities in the hotel, the hotel was clean and modern. Bed was comfy and breakfast was delicious. Customer service was also good as well. Two thumbs up.

Absolutely amazing staff and recently renovated hotel. Super cool style, welcome cookies and water. Internet is the fastest I've experienced in a hotel, with a dedicated router per room. Very nice lounge / bar / restaurant downstairs. I even got a surprise cake delivered to my room for my birthday!

I loved my experience of staying at this hotel. The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. The theme of the hotel is based on its former role as a Bank. In addition, there is a lot of artwork and souvenirs for sale, which are very reasonably priced and very creative. The rooms I've stayed in have been comfortable and spacious. I will definitely come back here whenever I need to be in the area.

It’s a good place to stay if you are okay with a smaller room that looks like a studio. The toilet and shower are in two separate rooms across from each other, the sink is connected to the rest of the room, there are no windows and the bed is hard and not the best quality. The front desk management is super nice and accommodating but I was not able to check in until 3pm. I will probably choose to stay somewhere else the next time I visit just because I personally prefer something a little more high end and comfortable. The concept of this place is really artistic but I just wish the rooms were a little better quality because they feel a little cheap. I only stayed for one night so it was okay.
