In 1958 (Republic of China in 47), Zhongzheng National School was established. In 1960 (the 49th year of the Republic of China), Pinghe National School was established. In 1968 (Republic of China 57), a nine-year national education was implemented and it was renamed Huwei Elementary School, Huwei Town, Yunlin County. In 1968 (Republic of China 57), the Qizhi class was established in September. In 1985 (Republic of China in 1974), the school moved to its current location, when the school area was 2.41 hectares.
