★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Here is what I learned on this trip. Just because Google says something is good or is highly rated, doesn’t mean that you will like it. There probably is nothing wrong with this place. The 2500 people who gave it almost 5 stars must really love it. But when i see 2500 reviews of something and it’s almost 5 stars, I’m thinking it’s going to be amazing. My review is obviously ethnocentric, but I’d say this is like a big chain place with a set formula. Imagine Sysco products. It’s not a home cooked meal that was given any thought. It’s a product that is pumped out for the masses. Why would they serve unseasoned chicken with no rice or accompaniment? The service here is wonderful and everyone was very kind and helpful.
Just to reiterate, I may not understand or know how things work here, so take my review with a grain of salt ( which the chicken needed.) but if you are looking for a one of a kind or unique dining experience, this is not it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were given some coupons for the set menu at Ikki which was an Icky experience. While a fan of modern design, the room was cold, lifeless and had bad vibes. The young, poorly trained wait staff cleared our plates almost before we were finished each course. It was a hurried and very uncomfortable meal. The food was bad and the portions were minescule. With all the great food options in Taipei I don't know how people can pay the prices for this type of set menu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I thought this place could have been better for the price. The quality wasn't as good as the dunhua location. They didn't have the fish rice that evening, which was disappointing-that was one of the best parts of the menu when I had it prior.
The duck breast that you grill didn't taste as good as when I had it at the other location either. It seemed more fatty and greasy.
The service wasn't great. They weren't that attentive and I had to push away each dish I finished instead for them proactively coming by to take them away. So much for that 10% srvc charge!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Set meal, great service and nice decor. Good place for celebrating a special occasion. The food is pretty good and comes out really quickly. There is a lottery draw if you have a birthday. We got a free drink. There is about 5 dishes in the set meal we got. I was satisfied with the portion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommended this chain restaurant. Features Japanese set menu come at really huge portion. Multiple courses of appetizers you’ll be already too full by the time when the entree served. Very flexible menu that you could easily mix and match. Had the matcha special dessert set and it’s yummy. Not too sweet and maintained the strong taste of matcha. Great choice for friends and family gathering.

There could be a bit more value for the food but I had no issues with it.
There was a special for deep fried soft shelled crab that was tasty and much better than I expected.
The set is enough to fill most people unless you're a big eater, but you probably wouldn't come here for quantity.
Everything was cooked well and presented nicely.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
