InterContinental Kaohsiung

Several staff members at Front Desk and Club Floor Desk need to be acknowledged. Tina at Front Desk is just so friendly and courteous. I’ve seen her on both occasions and she is a delight. As for the Club Floor, Sylvia, Felix, and Kevin provided the upmost of professionalism and elegance that are needed for a Club. I appreciate their thoughtfulness. This was my second stay at this location and Service is excellent. Professionalism at its best. I want to visit again as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone!

Since I booked a suite, I was led all the way to the executive lounge after I checked in. It felt very different from another hotel in Kaohsiung who left me at the elevator entrance on the first floor. The afternoon tea in the lounge is good, the service staff are super polite, the wine list and food options in the happy hour in the evening are a little less, but the exquisiteness is good, the food is also delicious. The room is very quiet, The temperature of the air conditioner is consistent, the bed support is good, but it is not too hard, it is very easy to fall asleep. The bathroom with full marble walls is very beautiful, you can enjoy the city scenery in the bath. Breakfast is in the all-day dining restaurant, the variety of food are great. Milkfish seafood porridge is very fresh, milkfish skin is very crisp, double texture. The coffee machine in the lobby bar uses the Victoria Arduino Venus Bar is from Italy, and the service staff Aaron introduced the coffee machine very enthusiastically. He said the parts of espresso machine are all handmade. The espresso brewed is really good. The coffee is very fragrant and not bitter at all. If you like espresso, don’t miss it.

Rooms are great-designed with innovative equipment, staffs are well-trained with great command of appropriate language, cuisine such as cake in the bakery follows French conventional ways, I love their opera cake and I would like to try their Paris-Brest for my next visit. Even though some hardware problems need to be fixed, all staffs are eager to improve themselves through inviting customers to share their feedbacks. In addition, staffs also shared their recommendations in both executive lounge and restaurant. Chef explained why and how the cuisines are made and eager to meet customer’s expectations, which is rarely seen during the era that most hotels are reducing their costs.

We stayed 3 nights in a Club room with our 6month old. The decor of the hotel is very modern and tasteful. Our room had a harbour view and we never got tired of waking up to a splendid view every morning. The mattress is super comfortable and bedding dreamy. Baby crib we requested was already in the room and it was a Nuna Sena, which we were very happy with. The hotel also provided a baby bottle steriliser but unfortunately it looked like it had not been cleaned from the last use. We rang customer service and it was promptly replaced with a new one but that was a little bit disappointing. However, housekeeping did a marvellous job when we accidentally broke a glass and they came quickly and did a very thorough job! We enjoyed having breakfast and evening canapés in the Club lounge, the variety is not huge but is tasty. Compared to other Executive lounges we are more used to in Taipei, the variety could definitely improve. There are only about 3 or 4 hot food options and most of them are dimsims. However, I should note the afternoon tea unfortunately has a lot of room for improvement. The selection of items on the high tea tray is quite embarrassing... There are really only 2 maybe 3 items that are passable as afternoon tea items, rest are cookies, broken pieces of slab chocolate and a candied fruit piece. I have never seen such mediocre afternoon selection at the executive lounge of a 5 star hotel. The saving grace was the coffee. Very very good coffee is provided in the club lounge and I miss it already. Most importantly though, Jeremy in the Club Intercontinental probably made our stay most memorable and enjoyable. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, including our son. I really cannot commend him more. If we come back to stay again it would be because of Jeremy. Thank you so much Jeremy.

首先說服務人員的服務態度大致上是好的，可惜許多地方員工們本身對於飯店就不是很了解，非常可惜。 套房的空間不大，但因為房間的空間運用不佳，導致房間感覺更小！浴室連接臥室的空地可以做成Walking Closet，不然臥室的衣櫥真的非常小，加上臥室空間不足，兩個人都帶登機箱就找不到地方打開了，更何況如果是外國來台的旅客，攜帶大行李箱要開更是天方夜譚。客廳沙發後方的畫框邊角非常尖銳，掛的位置很不對，坐在沙發上往後一躺就會撞到頭。 開夜床服務有跟沒有一樣，無任何紀念品或者睡前小點心，甚至連隔天的天氣預報、問候卡片通通沒有，非常失望。 詢問服務人員，房間有訪客可否出借椅子，電話中說可以，朋友到訪當天才說無法，造成困擾。另外電話與服務人員說需要紅酒杯，竟然說抽屜有玻璃杯，紅酒杯跟玻璃杯就是不同的，我就是要喝紅酒，用玻璃杯怎麼喝? 行政酒廊服務人員相當貼心，服務上也很周到，態度也很棒。可惜去住的期間，酒廊每天下午茶、晚上Happy hour內容通通一模一樣，加上大量的澱粉、加熱食品，讓人不禁懷疑這真的是Club Intercontinental的水準? 高雄洲際甫一開幕就讓許多旅客慕名而來，原因就在於以往在國外，對於洲際品牌的美好回憶與絕佳體驗，但高雄洲際真的與我心中的洲際印象相去甚遠。有種國外飯店種樹，國內業者乘涼的感覺。

I used IHG Rewards points to redeem four nights in this newly opened InterContinental Kaohsiung, the first IC hotel in Taiwan. As a five stars hotel, I would expect more hospitalities from the hotel staff. The service is merely at standard level, but not outstanding. I cannot feel the passion from Kaohsiung people. As a Spire Ambassador member, I received two vouchers of welcome drink and two vouchers of F&B credit of NT$599. While Ambassadors can get 15% discount on F&B in the restaurants, using the F&B vouchers cannot apply the 15% discount at the same time. So it is not worth if the meal fee is over a certain price. The food quality is very good. The room is very cozy with an AI assistant to turn on/off almost everything in the room. However, above the bed head is an obvious beam. That is considered bad in Fengshui. Unfortunately almost all rooms have that issue. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable. The gym and swimming pool are very small. That makes this hotel more like a luxury business hotel rather than a family hotel. I hope the hotel management will continue to improve their service and provide the best benefits to IHG Rewards members.

Arrival : door man was helpful that he came help with luggage and assist for check-in . At Check-In : the staff was quick enough to puled out my reservation, and was able to get a room sooner than I expected , but most of front staffs still not quite aware of knowing how to indicate guests how to use 599 vouchers . Classic Room : room was spacious for two , the bed was soft yet very supporting body weight , had 3 nights of great sleep, great selection of different type pillows , loved the neck pillow especially , it helped my partner with his loud snoring , loved the tub , amenities . BLT lobby lounge : great warm welcoming service , all well groomed staffs , food was rather sad ,Japanese style fried chicken : didn't taste what I had from a Japanese restaurant but more like store bought , Future meat salad : didn't look like a 5 star hotel salad that it came in a a wooden bowl , more like mixed greens with future meat crushed into very small pieces , Executive lounge : beautiful elegant decor , well knowledgeable welcoming lounge staffs ,canapé in the lounge , not the most exquisite I've seen , think there's a lot improvement to get to , No shoe polishing service ?? absolutely hard to imagine this actually happened at Kaohsiung Intercontinental Hotel , first Intercontinental Hotel doesn't offer shoe polishing that I have stayed .

5 star hotel but still charging 80NT for Coke Cola in room mini-fridge. Lounge bar drinks last order at 23:00. No hand-towels near toilet sink. Positively, they have a Tesla charger! ? Overall, the rooms are not bad. It's nice to try it out. But some of the management choices just don't make sense.
