Listen to Dan. Naan was stale and just not really naan. Chicken dish was a soupy purée that tasted of fish and scalded oil. Service was nice enough though, hope they can sort it out. I'm afraid a good curry requires a trip into the city.

This was our first time checking out this place. I had the Mutton Palak (spinach-based curry) and was absolutely in love with it. The other person I was wish had some sort of beef curry that I can't remember the name of but that was also out of this world. And, listen to me, the naan... I just can't describe how good it was. It was quite possibly the best I've ever had. I know some of the other reviewers noted problems with the naan in the past (they'd just opened; cut them some slack, guys) but on the night we were there everything was just excellent. Definitely give this place a try!

@Marine Verchain: Thanks for your comment. We have more Indian dishes avaialble now and at reasonable prices, including Chicken Tandoori & Indian BBQ items. @Danton DeWoody: Thanks for your comment. We have new chef & added many new dishes from this month. We have different Naan styles now. As Indian Naan has made of in different styles due to the country is huge & different chef has different styles & tatse also differ. We use Vegetrable oils, we don't have any fish items in our restaurant. Wish you visit once agin to our restaurant & taste new chef's food. Thank you. @ Dan Paradoski: Thanks for your comment. We have new chef, & added many new dishes, you may visit once to get the best services. For naan, it's made by hand actually, and cooked as traditional Indian way, Indian Tandoor Clay equipment. In the bathroom, we do have swtiches for turn on/off and there is written in bilingual languages. Wish you could bring your wife once again, to taste our new Naan shape, taste, and some other dishes. Thank you.

Good experience, really clean restaurant, service is quick and friendly. I order two naan (butter and plain), beef masala and butter chicken, and the eggplant dish (oily but really good !). I liked the food, it was tasty and can really taste the differents spices.

The only thing I liked about my first time at Jaish was the price. I read the four 5-star reviews on Facebook and noticed two of them came from vegetarians. I also saw my two favorite curries, bindi masala and aloo palak, on the photo of the menu. So far so good. Entered to an empty and dark dining area at 1:30 The host turned on the lights and brought our menus. I ordered the two curries above, along with a dahl fry. Went to the bathroom to wash my hands and found it unlit as well, without a switch. Washed hands in the dark. I came back to the table only to be told that they did not have the ingredients to make the okra or potato dishes, the reasons I had come. I ordered a chana masala and a bhaigan barta instead. The eggplant dish came first. The taste was ok but it was so oily that I didn't wipe the bowl clean with my naan. My wife even asked why I didn't because usually the plates at indian restaurants go back from our table as clean as I can get them. Probably a tablespoon worth of oil left in the bowl. The dahl was fine but came to the table 5 minutes after the first dish. The naan was not at all like the traditional naans that come at other Indian restaurants. It did not look hand made, but I did not ask. It resembled a flat bread more than a naan. It might have been better as a base for a pizza. The rice was standard white rice, not basmati rice. When our first two dishes were finished we waited and waited for the chana to come out. Finally I went to ask if it was still being cooked. He said no, but if we wait 5 minutes he could bring it out. I told him to forget it and we paid and left. On leaving, my wife looked at the business card and remarked that they were closed on Friday until dinner. She wondered what they did during that time. I told her I didn't know what they did, but I know for sure they weren't buying vegetables.

It was a great experience at "Jaish Indian Restaurant." As an Indian traveller to Taiwan, I never thought I will find such authentic Indian foods in Taiwan. I went there with my wife and my friends, we have orders all the three kind of Naans' (Plain Naan/Garlic Naan/ Butter Naan) with Chicken curry, Achar Gosht, Beef Keema, Mutton Palak, Mixed Veg. dishes; all the foods are perfectly cooked as Indian styles & the Naans are perfect too. Another positive sign that, you can adjust "No Spicy, less spicy, more spicy" options. As an Indian, I will must recommend this restaurant to Local Taiwanese, & foreigners. I'm so lucky that I can find such authentic Indian foods in New Taipei City. I will visit again this restaurant in my next visit. Thanks Mr. Jaish for such a perfectly foods & dining.
