Be sure to bargain rigorously; if you don't speak Chinese, use the calculator on your phone to make counter offers. In any case, you will come away with a local perspective of what's collectible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All kinds of genuine and rare kinds of jade, stones and crystals are here. Prices are not cheap but can haggle for a discount. A stone bracelet can cost you anywhere from NTD1,000 to NT5,000 depending on the kind. Bring enough cash with you. Open on weekends only.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Superb as always with among the biggest selection pan variety of stones for sale in one place anywhere in the world. Definitely bargains to be found, but for the novice, watch out for dyed jade being sold as natural and hence over priced. Still, one of Taipei's weekend highlights.
