It is located in a beautiful part of Taiwan, only a couple stops away from Taipei main station. Shilin night market is awesome, come to this station to walk to it quickly.

If you do not have a smart card, you can check the fare and buy a token - touch to pass the gate and insert to get out. Signs of stations are in Chinese, English or Alphabet+numerals!
M	Martin Marc-Olivier on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The station is a starting point for many hikers as there are convenient buses to get to YangmingShan National Park but it's also easy, just in a 10 minutes walk, to get to some trails, including Jiantan Trail and the Taipei Grand Hike (the station is actually the start (or the end) of section 5). The architecture of the station is also quite special, with the design of the suspension bridge that can be seen from outside. The link with the bus station gives a crowded atmosphere, with many students rushing to their buses. There is also the Shilin Market or the Grand Hotel nearby.
