In order to improve the local parking problem, the Yilan County Government strives for subsidies from the central government, and it took one year and 10 months to complete the new construction of the underground parking lot of Jiaoxi Elementary School. On April 27, 2011, he visited the site to inspect the quality of the project, and announced that it will start operation in July. The 358 car spaces released are expected to meet the parking needs of residents and tourists on the southern side of the Jiaoxi area. The car park project was subsidized by the Central Qianzhan Infrastructure Construction of 253,279,000 yuan, and the county government raised 173,399,000 yuan by itself to build an underground two-story parking lot at the Jiaoxi Elementary School playground with a total of 358 car spaces. The parking lot adopts intelligent parking service systems such as license plate recognition, electronic ticket charging, and presence detection, and plans for 8 parking spaces for persons with disabilities, special parking spaces for women and children, and special parking spaces for green energy, so as to improve the convenience of parking and the efficiency of the parking lot. The parking lot project started on July 15, 2019. Despite the domestic outbreak of COVID-19 last year, continuous rainfall in Yilan in winter, and rising material prices, the construction team overcame it one by one and completed on April 20 this year.
