園區主、次要步道有2.26公里健行空間，園內結合草坡、市定古蹟、生態池、大樹等自然元素塑造生態、休閒等多元活動的嘉義都會森林公園，將來成為「百年公園、生態教育、綠境休憩的森活城市」。
鄰近嘉義樹木園、嘉義公園、KANO園區。有公廁、無Youbike站、汽機車停車便利。雙B(電動公車、Youbike )在嘉義公園正門前面。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 和植物園有三條小徑連通，適合早晨黃昏快走運動，內有廁所，乾淨，只是還保留一古墓，八字輕者勿近。
可帶口袋型MP3邊走邊聽。
 There are three paths connected to the botanical garden, which are suitable for brisk walking in the morning and evening. There are toilets inside, which are clean, but there is still an ancient tomb.
You can listen to it while walking with pocket MP3.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Park is relatively large when visitors can walk Forest Park with neighboring Chiayi Arboretum and botanic garden. Because its collection of trees is full of variety, and there are many tall trees which can help visitors to avoid heavy sun sunshine in hot south Taiwan.
The parks are admission-free and have bathroom for the visitors. Road map and direction for the park is clear and helpful.
Because there is NO concession store or vending machine inside for selling cold water, visitors should bring or buy their own waters outside the Forest Park.
