Jing Tai Wan Hotel

This is a very good family run hotel. Elegant wood rooms. Beautiful views from the rooms. The owners are very friendly. You get the chance to try out authentic Taiwan tea. We recommend it!

Not at all modern but has its character. The staff is friendly and even if most don't speak English, they try to help as much as possible. The room was fairly clean, equipped with fan, AC, and drinking water fountain with cold and hot water. The rooms hill side have a fantastic view.

A wonderfully helpful staff ensured I had a great visit. This includes suggesting where to go and how to get there, one member of staff even waiting with me at the bus stop to ensure that I got on the right bus and the driver knew where I wanted to get off. They also have a collection of cars they use to take you to the local sights for free, dropping you off at Xitou and the bus station and other nearby places with no advance booking needed. The room was excellent, clean and had a wonderful jet stream bath in there (I was in a double room). A little disappointed that they only had soap rather than liquid shower gels but everything else such as a razor, toothbrush and paste etc is provided. Breakfast was good although if you are looking for a western style breakfast you will be disappointed. The dinner available was good but I would say it is a touch more expensive then what you can get hold of at other nearby places to eat. Overall a great hotel that I would advise getting in touch with before you even set foot in Taiwan as I am sure they will be able to advise you on things to make your stay more enjoyable.

There are pros and cons about this guesthouse. The view is awesome, the room is clean indeed, and the breakfast is relatively good. The 2 star rating is based on the perspective of family trip with young kids around 2y7m: the cribs are not provided as we called to confirm prior to our trip, so we decided to make a bunk on the floor since the standard double room could not fit two adults plus a well grown kid up to nearly three feet. The staff however refused to provide a second quilt after we found that one is not enough for making a bed for the kid. They even threatened to make extra charges until they realized these demands are for kid’s need. We the parents are also responsible for the unpleasant experience. For any who plans to spend a night in this guesthouse with young children, please do make sure you have what you need with you, or count your child as adult and book the room with plenty of bed. After all, this is a guesthouse of great view, not a baby care center.

This place is marvelous. It's extremely convenient as the bus literally stops in front of the hostel. And they offer a ride to Xitou bus stop and monster village. The room and view was spectacular. Everything is build of wood which gives a elegant and chic design. The room is spacious, cozy, and very clean. With the windows facing the woods and mountains, you are guaranteed a refreshing morning as you enjoy a sip of tea and some stretching every morning on the balcony. Many options for breakfast and dinner and the quality was not bad at all. The highlight of this place is the warm reception. The service is nonetheless heart-warming, with everyone being very passionate and helpful and I enjoyed an awesome time here, will definitely come back if I re-visit Xitou!! Highly recommend.

I am surprise the rating is so low for this hotel.. I find the hotel is nice and deserves higher rating. The room is clean with good mattress and comfortable. There is hot and close water supply in the room. Instead of just water bottle, guests will have supply of water direct from the tap, for hot or cold. I slept at the bed near the balcony and at night, looking thru the glass door, I can see the stars. Amazing !! The hotel provide free transport to the attractive areas like the monster village and the nature parks. They will pick you up in the evening as well. At B1, there is restaurant and food serves are very nice and pricing is reasonable. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay as compare to the expensive hotel at the monster village.

This place is absolutely adorable! The staff is friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and unique, and the room is clean and very reasonably priced considering it is right off of the main attraction. Do not worry that it looks slightly far away from Monster Village on Googlemap. This place offers free shuttle service whenever you need it! Highly recommend this place. Will come back if I have a chance. I'm a traveler with no car and got here via train and bus. It was very easy to navigate.

The view is fantastic and the hotel breakfast is very healthy with a local flavor. The air is fresh and one is woken up by the chirping birds surrounding one. They also sell their own tea and the lady at the counter is upbeat and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone who would love a relaxing mountain holiday during the winter.
