★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The last station of the rail, with less crowd and more charm. People still fly lantern here, which is in fact quite terrible for the surrounding forest. Unluckily, this is their way to promote tourist area. You can even find a flying lantern museum here. You also find other museums for the past mining activities. All these old monuments have special charms and many are already surrounded by crawling plants. Observing these building blended in the nature is just pure joy. Even for the more commercial shopping activities, the decoration with bamboo transcription has more fun compared to the very crowded shifen.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At the end of the train ride, this quaint place is much less crowded. You can do most things here - get pictures on the tracks, fly lanterns, look at scenery and the bamboo, grab some food. It's not as hyped as a tourist destination but if you have time, definitely check it out.
