The Taiwan Railway Station with simple hardware facilities can only see the tourist bus stop signs that are easy to travel in Taiwan after exiting the station. The public transportation connection is insufficient. Because of its position in the old community, the road width of the external road is narrow and the development is relatively Restricted.

The old red brick house + iron ox cart + coconut water and the old man are the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan. I will come again next time!

Very special train station name After going to the old iron bridge, I googled nearby attractions and found that the name of this small station Jiuqutang is very interesting, so I especially went around to take a look history Jiuqutang Station was established on October 1st in the 40th year of Meiji (1907). On the same day, Dagou (now Kaohsiung Port Station) to Jiuqutang Station was completed and opened to traffic. At that time, the station was located on the bank of Danshui River, about one kilometer south of today. At that time, due to the arduous construction of the Xia Danshui River Bridge (now the old Gaoping River Iron Bridge), the end of the Pingtung Line could only reach Jiuqutang Station at that time, and it was 2 years since Taisho to continue south to Pingtung ( 1913) October. After the Xia Tamsui Bridge was opened to traffic, in order to cooperate with the Taiwan-Sugar and Qishan line intermodal transportation business, the station was moved to the current location for operation on December 20 of the 2nd year of Taisho (1913). In Showa 12 (1937), the Kaohsiung-Jiuqutang dual-track construction began. In 16 (1941), the route and equipment in the station were expanded. At the same time, it was convenient to park in order to cooperate with the highway car joint operation (the automobile joint operation business was cancelled in the Republic of China in 34). The station was moved to Jiuqu Road, Jiuqu Village, next to the station. In 17 (1942), the dual track between Kaohsiung and Jiuqutang was completed and opened to traffic. After the restoration, it was changed to single-track operation and switched to electric block-type traffic. On May 8, 1991, the dual-track construction between Kaohsiung and Pingtung was completed and changed to the CTC traffic system. At the same time, the station was moved back to today’s Jiutangcun Railway Alley. , The current Jiuqutang Station was rebuilt on May 8, 1979, and the old station building before demolishing was completed in Showa 16 (1941). There is a monument to the south of today’s Jiuqutang Station. This monument was built to commemorate the technician "Iida Toyoji" who supervised the construction of the "Xia Danshui River Bridge" (the now-defunct Gaoping River Iron Bridge). Danshui Stream is today’s Gaoping River. Before the bridge was built, the bank of the Xia Danshui River was often flooded and the water was very turbulent. According to a record on the monument, one or two “Xia Danshui Stream, the river is magnificent, and it rains every year. During the period, the raging waves hit the shore, rushed to burst the embankment, overflowed, and suffered a lot along the village. The construction of the iron bridge was the most difficult fortification, which was beyond ordinary people's ability." In terms of the construction technology at the time, it was really one thing. This is a very difficult project. At that time, malaria was prevalent here, and technician Toyoji Iida was also unfortunately contracted by this disease. In addition, he died of illness in Tainan Hospital on June 10 in the 2nd year of Taisho (1913). He was 40 years old and was unable to witness the completion of the work. , This has become a great regret.
