Easily accessible trail that is well maintained. Lots of divergent paths to explore. Great view of the Taipei basin from there. A lot of friendly locals who start the hike before sunrise in summer to escape the heat and do stretches near the top.

The hikes takes about 30minutes to the top bit the view from it is totally worth it. Especially at sunset when I was there u can see all the light of Taipei nightlife. You can go sit on the big rocks at the top and enjoy the nice breeze and views.

An easy hike with a great payoff lots of stairs that can be used to make things easier. A beautiful view and a nice scenic spot at the end. Though if there is alot of people at the end you have to wait for your turn. Overall a good place for beginners.

Great attraction, suitable for the whole family to climb the mountain. The overall difficulty will not be very high. You can get a bird's eye view of Taipei from the top of the mountain. There are many people on holidays. Be careful when you are on Warship Rock.

Taipei is a basin and surrounded by mountains. Warship Rock is one of the easiest one to scale and conveniently located just north of the Yangming University and the Taipei General Veteran Hospital. The easiest entrance of the foot path is inside the University, basically you enter the school, walk straight to the foothill, steering to the right and up, after about 10 minutes you will be at the entrance. Then it is about 20+ minutes step climbing, and you are at the Warship Rock. The neare 240° view is great to see almost the entire Taipei basin. I was there in the afternoon on 1/1/2021. It has been almost 45 years since I was a kid up there. I grew up in the Veteran Hospital and we were up there all the time when I was 9 to 12. There were a lot of people on the new year's day. It might be best to go up there on a weekday, quieter, and one could enjoy the view and solitude. One could continue north or northeast to other foot paths. I chose to come down from the eastern footpath that ended in the neighborhood back of the Gerneral Hospital (see picture). On the way down, I was looking for a cave that was located about halfway, over the edge of the rock, one needs to scale down about 3 feet, it could sit 3 to 4 kids, and some older kids used to go smoke there. I did not find it.

A very popular place for people to line up to take photos. Easy hike from Yang-min university. You can also came from Beitou. Nice view at the top. Lots of trails nearby. You should try out all the trails from here.

The hike up to the top is a bit tough, but the views are 100% worth it. If you go on a clear day you can see all the way back over to Taipei 101, and all of the surrounding areas. Would absolutely recommend anyone visiting Taipei to check this place out. Also, since it’s a bit further out of the way, it’s a little less crowded compared to other overlook spots you can find.

Super easy hike and it's got a great view. There seem to be multiple paths leading to the top from various areas around the mountain. We started from Qilian station. The initial area was all stairs and it kind of turned into a smaller trail that wasn't very inclined. There was a bit of up and down but the trail and the views were all pretty impressive. The one downfall is that there is a very groomed/stair trail that you reach at one point and because of that it's very easy for many people to climb and is of course, very busy because of that. But honestly, it's worth the view, even on a cloudy day!
