★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 因去開元寺旁附設塔位祭拜,環境很寧靜。如至寺內參拜也很能感受莊嚴。其實小時住在附近也常來玩耍,只是近四十年了還是充滿童年回憶
Because of the pagoda attached to the Kaiyuan Temple to worship, the environment is very quiet. If you go to the temple to worship, you can also feel the solemnity. In fact, I lived nearby and often came to play when I was a child, but it is still full of childhood memories after nearly 40 years.

Kaiyuan Temple is located in the North District of Tainan City, Taiwan, on the banks of the Chaitougang Creek in the Qing Dynasty. It was declared a Grade II monument on August 19, 1985. It was formerly known as the Ligong Beiyuan Pavilion outside the city of the Yanping Royal Family. It was later converted into a temple during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. It was originally called Haihui Temple. It is a famous temple in Taiwan and the earliest official temple established. It has a deep relationship with the development of modern Taiwanese Buddhism. . The temple is also one of the seven temples and eight temples in Taiwan's Fucheng.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited their on chance and met a nun. It was a chance meeting, a meeting only arranged by God. She was a blessing in my day and in my life. This temple is the best temple I have visited in Tainan ..... it is very beautiful.
Without hesitation I recommend one visit there.
I would love to go early during prayer times .... so beautiful.
The nun gave me a traditional one page per day calendar.... soooo heavy still I’ll take it back to australia. I always have loved these calendars. .... some things I just love... cast iron claw foot baths and calendars are but two.
I was also given books on Buddhist love and loving. I’m reading them now each day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very calm place and almost no tourists, compared with downtown Central West District of Tainan. Not very accessible easily unless you have car or scooter. The Buddhist Temple was constructed and renovated from Qing Dynasty and nuns and few monks still live here. You felt calm and warm for the visit, refreshing any worries indeed.
