Qishan Elementary School was originally called "Sweet Sweet Potato School". It was set up in the 31st year of Meiji (1898). The first principal was Miyuro Manwa. The school was rebuilt in the 1910s. Later, in April of the Taisho 11th year (1922), it was renamed "Qishan No. 1 Public School", and in Showa 6 (1931) it was changed to "Qishan No. 1 National School", and in Showa 16 (1941) ) And then changed to "Qishan National School". After the World War II, it was changed to "Qishan Elementary School in Qishan Town, Kaohsiung County" in August 1968 due to the implementation of the nine-year national education. Later, it became the Qishan Banner of Kaohsiung City due to the administrative division reform Mountain National Elementary School. When the school was founded, the school was divided into nine districts: Sweet Potato, Xizhou, Gouping, Qiwei, Shanshan Forest, Jiaxianpu, Tianlou, Gutingkeng, and Guanyin Pavilion, covering 21 street villages. Later, as the number of students increased, the Zhongpu branch, Tianliao branch, Liuguili branch, Jiaxianpu branch, Gouping branch, Xizhou branch, and Yuantanzi branch were established one after another. In addition, after the implementation of the national school system, "Sweet Yam Common High School" (now Gushan Elementary School in Qishan District) was changed to "Gushan Branch of Qishan National School" after the implementation of national compulsory education in the 19th year of Showa (1944). In 1956 (1956), Qifeng branch school was established. The classrooms and auditorium of the north building of the school have been designated as historic sites.

The campus was originally left over from the Japanese occupation period. It is empty and beautiful. There are huge trees. Now there are a lot of modern buildings on the campus. (School buildings). The campus becomes crowded. The original scenery is lost.

Qishan Old Street has been visited many times. I never thought of going into a seemingly boring campus~ Qishan National Elementary School. Today, because children are clamoring for a slippery slide, I want to say that there may be campus, so I went to the campus to find I didn't expect that when I stepped into the campus, I was deeply attracted by the campus monuments. I have a completely different style from the renovation of each school. Is there a different taste here? I really recommend that if you come to the old street, you can really come in and take a look, it is worth seeing.
