Kaohsiung Harbor Museum - Gushan District

The Kaohsiung Port History Museum, located at Pier 3 of Kaohsiung Port, was completed in 1917 in the 6th year of Taisho. At that time, it was the office building of the Office of Tax Collection Officials and Officials in Tagou Port (Kaohsiung Port) of Taiwan’s Governor’s Office. It was an imitation of Baroque bricks. The exterior is characterized by reinforced concrete, the second-floor building is covered with red bricks, the red bricks are added with white ribbons, and the flat arch entrance. The upper part is decorated with round arch windows and exterior balconies. The window openings are decorated with white chopped stones. The pilaster on the facade is a simplified deformation of the Totskan column in the classical column style. The column body is made of red brick, and the column base is made of washed stone material to imitate the thickness of the stone base. The roof, wall, base and attached wall Approximately two parts of the column are designed as an overall facade. In order to preserve the historical and cultural relics of Kaohsiung Port, the Kaohsiung Port Authority began refurbishment in 1997 and was finally completed in 2002. It was renamed the Kaohsiung Port History Museum to coincide with the opening of the Port Authority’s anniversary celebration.

Kaohsiung Port History Museum is located next to Zhan Erku and Banana Wharf. It was under renovation for a period of time.
