Khàn-se-ke Presbyterian Church

It is one of the oldest churches in Taiwan. At first, the pastor, James Laidlaw Maxwell (Masa Masa) built the "Nishi-machi Nudodo", but now it is a new construction. The new church is like Roman architecture.

A century-old church On May 27th, 1917 (Taisho 6th year), the Taipingjing Church set up a preaching center in Kanxi Street, the birthplace of sacred religion. In 1939 (Showa 14), a branch was formally established, called "Yongle Church", 1951 (Republic of China 40th year) This white dome church, imitating St. Paul’s Cathedral in England, was built on the current site. It was completed in 1955 (Republic of China 44). It was named "Kanxi Street Church" to commemorate the history of the development of Christian missions in Taiwan.
