香蕉碼頭,原名為「香蕉棚」,屹立於高雄港近半世紀,現為高雄市歷史建築之一。50年代臺灣香蕉大量出口日本,賺進大筆外匯,當時自各地運來的香蕉幾乎全由高雄港包辦。初期沒有任何特殊設備以供存放,將香蕉露天堆置,任其日曬雨淋,為提昇香蕉品質及因應香蕉生產數量遽增,於民國52年(西元1963年),在三號碼頭擴建了一棟雙層香蕉棚,其為配合早期裝置香蕉竹簍之堆疊方式,主體建築的柱距較一般倉庫來的密集,又因香蕉存放空間講究通風,則以露天方式建造,為高雄港唯一一座開放式的倉庫。隨著需求現代化及香蕉輸出趨近沒落,香蕉棚逐漸走進歷史。近年高雄市政府港市合一的政策推動下,歷史建築空間再造,在河邊餐飲機構的努力下,為香蕉棚注入新的生命,便以昔日存放的香蕉為由,於民國99年(西元2010年)正式更名為「香蕉碼頭」

In order to improve the quality of bananas and in response to the rapid increase in the number of bananas produced, it was expanded in 1963 in the Republic of China (1963). A double-layer banana shed, which is in line with the stacking method of early installation of banana bamboo baskets. The main building has a denser column spacing than ordinary warehouses. Because the banana storage space is more ventilated, it was built in the open air. It is the only one in Kaohsiung Port. Open warehouse. With the modernization of demand and the declining output of bananas, banana sheds have gradually entered history. In recent years, promoted by the Kaohsiung City Government’s policy of integrating Hong Kong and the city, the space of historical buildings has been rebuilt.
