★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two stars for the sweet taro balls and one extra star for the clean sitting area. Good if you like the taro balls to be sweet, I prefer more natural taro flavour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Weather turned cold after rain and found this quaint shop selling either cold or hot taro balls. Naturally ordered the hot ones and didn’t look back thereafter. The balls were nice and chewy. Soup was not too sweet and if you dig underneath you will find green beans. Worth for a second come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well I kind of like this sweet soup dessert. I can find green bean, red bean, yam, sesame & sweet potato taro balls. Tangy, chewy yet doesn’t stick to my teeth. I am not a sweet tooth and don’t find it too sweet. Came at 4.30pm weekday, no queue, there’s seat and peace. Perfect for a good bowl of hot taro soup. Gonna try the other popular one tmr. Check out my other reviews.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Within Jiufen Old Street, you can find this nice location for some sweets and traditional dessert. Fairly cheap in price but with tastes of quality, it is a nice stop to take as you venture through Jiufen Old Street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best taro balls in Taiwan! Every time I'm in Jiufen, I always have to come here and have a bowl. It's so refreshing in the summer. The line is always super long, but it's so worth it! Have your change ready and it'll go by super fast. Definitely a staple of Taiwanese cuisine and a must have whenever you're here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After 8 months being in Taiwan, we finally made our revisit trip to Jiufen. The weather was really hot but inside Jiufen old street was relatively cooling which was pleasant. We stopped by this shop after lunch for a cooking dessert. The place was easy to find as it has a striking orange signboard. We ordered 3 bowls. Each bowl came with 5 types of taro balls, red and mung beans. Ice were added for a refreshing taste and you can add more ice if you find it too sweet which I did. The taro balls were chewy and soft. We loved it very much and purchased 2 more packs home to cook. Each pack cost NTD90. You can select from 2 to 5 types of taro balls. For eat in, each bowl cost NTD50. Standard price for these dessert. Overall, great time here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed!!!
Desert used to be much better.
Quality dropped too much.
Perhaps different management.
Definitely not worth anymore.
Tasted horrible.
Soup is like plain sugar water.
Too sweet and red bean taste.
Totally different from what I remembered years ago.
