★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They don't speak even one single word of english there. They used a translater and other guests for helping us. 2 weeks earlier we emailed them, if the path is open or closed because of the Taifun. The answer was "ok". But the path seems still to be close since weeks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very little English is spoken here. This is NOT the starting point for the Giant ancient tree boardwalk. It is about 30 minute drive from lalashan visitor center up very winding roads. Past upper Baling, until the asphalt road becomes a small concrete road, drive until you cannot go any further and you will see the lalashan natural center building and the start of the boardwalk. But well worth it! The ancient tree boardwalk is spectacular, never seen anything like this in Asia. Recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great resting place with picnic tables to enjoy one's homemade lunch. A couple sells noodles and soup outside the visitor's centre. The bathrooms were just some stairs away.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You will enjoy a very scenic drive to get to this location. Allow plenty of time and expect minor delays on the drive. The road, 7乙(7 Yi,) frequently becomes a one-lane road. I would not recommend this road at night for someone unfamiliar with it.
This is a location where you should get up early to depart to the mountain and return from it before dusk. There may be lodging at the local village, and next time I’ll probably use it. The village also has decent food. The tourist center is well-staffed and helpful. The local aboriginal culture is fascinating and is worthy of the trip.
One critical piece of information. The attraction, nor the adjacent village, has no “official” source of gasoline. Visit on a full tank of gas. You’re at least 30 minutes away from a gas station on slow-going mountain roads.
