★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice place to take the family for a couple hours to learn about Yilan and whatever exhibit they have at the time. The building is unique, and the museum is clean and well organized. If you're planning to see a lot of cool exhibits or technologically advanced gadget, this is not the place for you. But if you enjoy taking your time to read descriptions, both in English and Chinese, and learn, then this place is awesome.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place for education of kids. Air conditioning is available while visiting, you gonna love it very much especially in hot day. Take your time with kids to explore more place in this exhibition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful museum. Outside architect is made from colored glass. The slop of the building is an amazing work, respect to the architecture ?? There're many exhibition themes, free admission. It's worth visiting when you come to Yilan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This museum is worth a visit for the architecture alone. Such eye candy! We went to the Underwater Archeological Exhibit. It was not as in depth as we would have liked, brushing over the topic and skirting a deeper dive (no pun intended) into the topic. You could happily spend 30 minutes in the exhibit and then you can feel like you have seen it all. We will likely go back to explore the permanent exhibits. The harbor is across the street and a few restaurants within walking distance.
