One of the best beef noodles I had during my stay in Taiwan.

The food was reasonably tasty at this restaurant, but sadly our experience was completely overshadowed by the poor hygiene and rather harsh way in which the owner treated the customers. While we were there, on more than one occasion the owner shouted at customers who spent too long choosing cold dishes (小菜) at the front of the restaurant, on the grounds that "spending too long near the dishes is bad for hygiene". To me, it would have been better to cover the dishes with a glass roof, so that it wouldn't matter if customers spent too long choosing. However, after berating the customers for lack of hygiene, the owner demonstrated his own lack of regard for hygiene by taking our money and then chopping meat and vegetables with the same unwashed hands. I would have liked to recommend this restaurant, but there are too many issues here. Perhaps the manager could consider building a glass roof to put over the cold dishes, and then he wouldn't have to spent time explaining the rules for each new customer that enters the restaurant. And I certainly would expect that the owner learns to wash his hands between receiving money and chopping food. Not doing so is completely unacceptable.
