Some constructive criticism. Had to wait through other visa applications just to pick up a passport. Picking up a document takes less than a minute. Reception inefficient. Unnecessarily had to wait for people to go through visa applications. 1 minute stop turns into 10 ?That is besides nobody answering the phone and the wrong phone number in website. The staff are friendly, though.

Would like to see a more uplifting space (SA art, paintings, plants, etc.). This office is a window to SA creating first impressions! Friendly service, but often constricted due to poor systems and technology in SA. Might be more clear with instructions when entering office, e.g. why have people wait long times just to pick up a passport? Could have a separate window/line for collection. Would be good to see the local website updated and designed more pleasing to the eye.

google reviews are accurate, horrific customer service. they unreasonably demand you to not use cellphones inside--not merely for a voice call, but also for for non-disruptive usage. they actually demand you to put your phone away, even if you are not using it. completely unacceptable level of customer service. also wondering why the liaison office doesn't appear to be staffed by ZA nationals.

We had to apply for our son’s birth certificate and passport. Everyone at the office were so kind and friendly. Special thanks to Miss Olive Chen who went out of her way to help us. Of course it will take a while to get our documents but this is not because of LOSA and we totally understand that. Thank you for excellent service!

I waited for 40 minutes from the 10AM 'opening' time until someone bothered to show up. Then the clerk that served me was unresponsive and unhelpful saying that I should rather just wait until it's possible to go to SA to do these transactions. No empathy at all. They said I don't have the correct documents anyways and said I would have to come back when I have them translated and notarized. I felt very annoyed because I had emailed and called them several times before to make sure that I had the correct documents but absolutely zero response. The whole thing was super stressful and expensive after travelling from kaohsiung via HSR.

Pleasantly surprised with friendly service. Went to get a bunch of documents notarised which needs to be sent back to my bank in SA and they were very helpful and got it done with no problems.

Honestly it's a rude wake up call as to the system management of South Africa in Taiwan. Despite the office being in a country that usually demonstrates efficacy and an attentive, helpful approach to customer service, this office appears to go out if its way to make things difficult! It's a fight to recieve the service they offer. Come prepared to prove why they should assist you. Even as a citizen of South Africa in Taiwan, not the slightest bit of home is felt, and definitely not reassuring as a governmental body. I feel it's the worst representation of South Africa abroad, even Home Affairs does better.
