★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 獅山古道屬苗栗縣相當優質的健行步道，也是獅頭山風景區六條步道中寺廟古剎最多的步道。自行開車者，可將車停於獅山牌樓旁的停車格或停車於獅山遊客中心，然後由獅尾啟程。亦可將車停於勸化堂，由該處啟程。沿途景觀極佳，走來心情沉靜卻喜悅。沿途的景點有獅山大石壁，望月亭，元光寺，靈霞洞，金剛寺，萬佛庵等。是相當值得一遊的步道.
 The Shishan Ancient Trail is a very high-quality hiking trail in Miaoli County, and it is also the trail with the most temples and temples among the six trails in the Shitou Mountain Scenic Area. If you are driving by yourself, you can park your car at the parking bay beside the Shishan Archway or at the Shishan Visitor Center, and then set off from Shiwei. You can also park your car at the Quanhua Tang and start your journey from there. The scenery along the way is excellent, and the mood is quiet but joyful. The scenic spots along the way include Shishan Dashibi, Wangyue Pavilion, Yuanguang Temple, Lingxia Cave, King Kong Temple, Wanfo Nunnery and so on. It is quite a walk worth visiting.

I took the bus from Hsinchu HSR station, which will stop at the tourist centre, and started walking from there.
I ended up at Quanhua Temple and take the shuttle back to tourist centre. All the buses timetable can be obtain at Hsinchu's many tourist centres.

It's easy to park the car or motorcycle at the customer service center, and it offers the test room. It's convenient!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Mountain has a lot of trails that are well marked but don't feel like they are overrun even when fairly busy with people enjoying nature.
It was a really nice spot to hike with moderate, very manageable elevation. Switchbacks are gentle for the most part. Anyone with a lot of trouble with knees might consider trekking poles, but I didn't find them necessary.
Beautiful View! Excellent Hike!!! The hike is long,But it is worth it.
The hike down is better than the hike up..but you can do it!!!! Its worth the trip.
