★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I thought this museum was absolutely lovely. It is nearly abandoned right now, but I imagine during the Dragon Boat Festival there are more tourists. It cost NT$130 to get in for an adult. Nearly all of the displays have English translations and the outdoor area is quite picturesque. I spent about an hour here.

Very well organized museum with rich content. They have good collections on furnitures and items for daily use in old days. It is presented in a way to demonstrate how exactly everything looks like in the past.
It doesn't allow taking pictures inside though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Legendary Taiwanese family Ku's(辜) origin house place. Like other families, Ku built it after his career was so success, and reputation was know by the Japanese Emperor around 1915. By 1919, the main building was accomplished, use as Ku family's economic, politic, and military center.
you will find rich people how to live 100 years ago, and you will find out the living is much better in the 21st century, even a common ordinary people like you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building used to be residence of a very wealthy and powerful family in Taiwan and is now donated for museum purpose. It is a nice building and you can see some interesting artefacts inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Splendid museum downtown! The building used to be a grand mansion of the local rich family, and now is open for exhibition of traditional household properties and decoration. Some antique furniture can be dated to the 19th century, though it is not allowed to take indoor photos. The room is well preserved as it was a century ago, and the building is well maintained as a local attraction. This place has a fine garden that makes great background for photos. One can really enjoy the time exploring the old stuff in this beautiful museum.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As many people have said already, it is a nice museum with well preserved artifacts. The admission is a little steep as previously stated. It is worth visiting if you need to kill an hour of time.
