★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the one temple that I come to every year. It’s got everything here; souvenir shops, food stalls, entertainment, place to stay overnight, and etc. Just be sure to give your regards to the Gods before anything else and get blessed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge Temples with Oval shape and Dragon shape including animated exhibitions of Paradise and Hell in Chinese culture (old but 40 NT for each). There were martial arts + many Gods ceremonies on the large plaza today Sunday. Incredible place for this small town! You can buy toys for kids and local food. You can also sleep there. Must see in Madou town if you're near Tainan !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am always amazed at the Temples in Taiwan... It was a beautiful sunny morning. Entry fee is 40 NT$ for adults and children 20NT$. Inside the Dragon is beautiful. The details in the art and the set up is entertaining. One can feed the fish and also go to the side where they have a scary inside experience for people. Bathrooms are clean. I enjoyed the experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is fascinating (now that we know what it is). This is a heaven and hell exhibit. Downstairs (you'll note it with the demon above the entrance)--is a claymatronics of the 18 levels of hell. The dragon is heaven. Interesting note, hell has English translations, but heaven does not.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an intriguing temple for sure. First, it is absolutely huge! As you walk around to the back you'll see the giant dragon. I didn't know until visiting that there were 2 exhibitions of heaven and hell. There is a small fee for both. (40 NTD) The hell exhibit may be too intense for younger kids.(Part of it is pretty gruesome) Both exhibitions use animatronics that even light up as you get close for the hell exhibition. It goes through the 18 levels of hell. This is in a basement so you do walk downstairs in the darkness whereas heaven is up above the ground and you travel upward through the exhibition. It is a unique experience and worth a visit.
