★ ★ ★ ★ ★ come with expectations of seeing dilapidated japanese houses and you won't be disappointed. i found it quite cool. a little like a ghost town (but it's just a short street)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a small historical place. I love how the smell of the old Japanese home. They didn't renovate any of them but kept as it is and that i think made it more unique. It was a very peaceful site, and you might get lucky if this one three colored cat followed you along and keep you company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A slowly running-down location as it's been decades after the Japanese occupation... the city government seems forgetting or not quite enthusiastic about its conservation. A reminder for visitors is : residents are still living in the traditional Japanese style houses there; be careful not to include them into your photos taken as a matter of courtesy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed my visit at the Manor House. It depicts the Hualien Japanese history. The houses are very Old. It is peaceful sit surrounded by vegetation and look at the fish jumping in the Meilun Riverside.
