Nice view of Taipei city.
There are some tea houses and cafe at the top for us to enjoy the view. Otherwise nothing much to do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favorite place to visit in Taipei, cos I enjoy taking the long cable car ride. Love the tranquility n serenity of Maokong, which is a stone throw away from the busy bustling city. Taipei city needs to do more to enhance the visitor friendliness of the hill.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The gondola ride was worth it going One Direction. I don’t think I would pay to go up and down. We wound up taking the glass bottom gondola up and taking the bus to get back to the city. The bus is Can be pretty crowded if you try and leave when everything is closed around 5 PM. Most exam it’s close around four so get there early. I probably wouldn’t wait in line for the Crystal ballroom class gondola again. If you take the other kind you can go in one alone And you don’t have to wait for 20 minutes??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best things to do in Taipei. Pick a nice sunny day though. If you go up the cable car in the morning you can have lunch in one of the many cafes at the top and then work your way down through the zoo in the afternoon. Great day out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This the last stop of the gondola ride. Exit the station, you will find snack stand, pleasant walk and short trail around farms, tea houses (the mountain still has plenty of tea farm), restaurants and cafes, often with great view of the Taipei city. Don’t miss the chinan temple - it is new but pretty. Maokong is a good choice to spend more than half day.

It's well known for its gondolas, the beautiful views on the city, the restaurants and tea houses (and ice cream shops) for a nice break, and the extensive tea culture in the surrounding area. If you are hiking you will be happy to find a convenient store and restrooms.
