Meet Fresh Taipei Jinzhou Shop

This place is so good. I have great memories here and their grass jelly with taro and sweet potato balls over ice is my favorite!

Franchise sweets shop. Pricy for what it is and portion isn’t great.

Saw a post from Silicon Valley, CA that writer was thrilled about their opening branch there. Naturally I need to pay a visit to their new Jinzhou Street shop near my temporary dwelling in Taipei. Decor was impressive, service impeccable and the food, Bean Flower was very good, too. So, I don't mind the extra TWD$10 they charged.

I think once a business becomes a chain the quality suffers. I am grateful Meet Fresh is exposing America and Canada to this wonderful Taiwanese dessert, but at this store I didn’t feel the love. Thanks to the older gentlemen off the street who helped the translation.

Very disappointing experience. I would give them negative stars if that was an option. We used to come here all the time but we will never come here again. One of the reasons that we used to come here was because they served the drinks and desserts in glass cups and porcelain bowls, which we appreciated because it was environmentally responsible. Now they have a shelf full of mason jar cups and porcelain bowls and they refuse to allow their customers to use. You cannot even request or insist that you want to use the glasswares. Instead when you order a drink you have no choice but to get it in the cheap transparent plastic cups. They also photograph their drinks on the menu in the mason glass jars but when I pointed out the misrepresentation, the server was arrogant and ignorant and just plainly told me that photos are for reference only and it is not possible to expect the food to look like what is shown in photos. I actually think that it is the fundamental responsibility of the food industry to match the food that they serve to the photos in their menu. We humans dump over 10 million tons of plastic waste into our oceans every year. Our seafood and the snow in the arctic already has unavoidable traces of plastic in it. When customers choose to sit down at a restaurant and choose to use reusable dining ware to eat we should be given that option. I am very disappointed that MeetFresh has chosen the lazy and easy way out and have chosen to increase the disposable plastic consumption at an irresponsible rate. I hope other customers can make more informed choices so that in the future it will become fashionable to use less plastic and be more conscientious of how we treat and take care of our environment.
