This is a school with outstanding performance. It has a long history, beautiful environment, novel facilities and equipment, and stable increase of classes. It is a first-class school in disaster prevention education or American language teaching.

Chiayi Minority Elementary School is a primary school run by Japanese. Most of the students enrolled are the children of Japanese in Taiwan, and a very small number of children who are Taiwan compatriots can only go to school after passing the oral examination, which is different from ordinary public schools (or national schools). The elementary school did not retain relevant student status or documents for examination. "Asahi Elementary School" also disappeared with the evacuation of the Japanese. On April 1, Republic of China, the school was named "The Second Public School of Chiayi City", and its address was at No. 69 Guangcai Street, Chiayi City (now the provincial South China Commercial School). On April 1, Republic of China, the name of the school was changed to "Chiayi City Dongmen Public School". On April 1, the 30th year of the Republic of China, due to the change of school system, it was renamed "Chiayi City Dongmen National School". In the 34th year of the Republic of China, Taiwan was recovered. Our government took over the school on November 19th. The name and address of the school remained unchanged. On January 13, the 35th year of the Republic of China, our school, Dongmen National School, was ordered to move to the original "Xu Elementary School" site (the school's current site). On November 13 of the same year, due to the administrative region, the branch school was renamed "Xinnan District National Minority School, Chiayi City, Chiayi County". On December 1, 1949, Chiayi City became a county-administered city. The school was ordered to be changed to "Chiayi County National Minority National School". It was designated as a "Model National School" by order of the Chiayi County Government on August 1, 1945. On March 10, 2005, it was designated as the "Chiayi County Sports Demonstration National School" by an order of the Taiwan Provincial Government Education Department. The Nine-Year National Education School was implemented on August 1, 1949, and its name was changed to "Minority National Primary School in Chiayi City, Chiayi County", and it was approved as a "Social Center School". On April 14, 1965, it was ordered to be the "Social Education Experimental Demonstration School." On July 1, Republic of China, Chiayi City was upgraded to a provincial-administered city, and the school was ordered to change its name to "Chiayi City Minority National Primary School". Outside the campus there is a primary school full of history and humanities
