Moon World Landscape Park

It is a very special place which is a gift from the nature. Many cracks on the ground like the surface of the moon. It needs quite a lot of energy to go to the highest place. It is not convenient to travel by public transport, so it's better to check the schedule with the bus driver before you go.

If you have the time, and weather is not hot and humid, its worth the stop. Else, it is a good amount of effort, sweat and sun to deal with.

Significant scenario in south of Taiwan. The material of this ground makes no creatives live therefore the white and barren appear. There are several stairs could wandering the terrain and viewing with different side. But most of the paths are refurbished now and prohibiting to enter.

Interesting place with a quite unique landscape. Not sure if this is a must see. If you are interested in geology of tropical bad lands this might thrill you, touch. In the dry seasons the „seas“ are dry. A lot of the nature is actually „artificial“, due to protection reasons.

Feels as if one big rain fall will change this delicate, unique landscape. The ridges are tall yet they crumble at the touch. The geographical term for the land formation is ‘badlands,’ caused by rainfall and erosion of the desert-like soil. Park is about 75% complete. Signs will direct you to the areas that are open. Be careful if you wander around the construction sites, you may find tools and ropes scattered around. The park takes about 1.5 hours to walk around and take photos of. There is a base lake that takes 20-30 minutes to walk around at the bottom. If you are feeling more adventurous, hike above the lake for incredible views of this moon-like land. Sunset time is the best time to go. There are clean bathrooms behind the lake with toilet paper and soap. At the entrance, plenty of vendors sell quick bites of food, fruit and also waters/sodas. If you are seeking transportation, best to rent a car (must have international driver’s license) or pay a taxi double to take you up and wait for you while you hike, then drive you back to Kaohsiung. Takes 30-40 minutes without traffic to get there. Take water with you as you hike. Lots of stairs to trek up and down.

Surprisingly a nice time walking around this area. It’s amazing to see how the mountains are formed from mud. A unique experience. Some of the foot steps are cracked, be careful on walking on the steep steps.

We had a lovely afternoon walking around. Not very big, but we’ll- maintained.

Nice view, from the word itself, you will experience here like your outside the earth.. this place is free.. just bring insect repellant due to so many mosquitoes.. this place is good for photoshoots.. You can unwind with your family and Friends, this place is not yet fully developed and they are doing their best to attract tourists.. the name of this place is Moonworld in Tanliao Kaohsiung..
