★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great temple at the fishing port. Seeing gem coral Matsu first hand is great. Many seafood restaurants are nearby. Easy parking. Crowded at weekend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Temple, registered as a Taoist temple, is within 300 meters of another Mazu temple, Nantian Temple, and, compared to other Mazu temples in central or south Taiwan, both temples are relatively new and young for fishing ports' temples which worship Mazu in Taiwan.
It is because the Temple's deity was originally sitting at Beifangao fishing harbor, where was taken over by government, under the power of eminent domain, to rebuild and expand to become a military harbor in late 1980s.
While nearby Nantien Temple's Mazu statute on the top floor is made of gold, Nanfangao Jinan Temple's Mazu statute is made of coral, which is unique and really a rare one in Taiwan for statute material.
The Temple provides free worship materials and is within walking distance of fishing port's shopping area.
