Very well run government office. They focus on epediancy, accuracy and processing the applications. For those that complain about slow they are - try going to a DMV in California. Well done.

I've slightly edited the review I made a few months ago: Inefficient. False information. Poor service. When I arrived to update the passport number on my ARC, one staff member (a younger guy doing his military service, perhaps) told me I needed an employment certificate and a work permit. I was told at my work that I did not need them since I was only updating the information on my ARC, but I made some copies and returned to the NIA office, filled out the form, and waited in line quite a while. The man behind the desk was rude and wouldn't fully explain to me what I needed to do. When I asked him to help me write in Chinese on the paper, he simply said, "I don't do that," and waited for one of the younger guys doing their military service to fill it out (while he sat back with his arms folded behind his head). Very unprofessional. In the end, he never asked me for the employment certificate or the work permit because neither were needed. One positive thing about this office is that the staff members speak English. Some of my coworkers have said they have had positive experiences there, but they say it depends on who helps you.
