I just don't like getting negative... They should really reform the system so that all documentation and process would be clear and effective, so you don't have to run from place to place, wasting valuable time, volunteers are quite willing to help out though, oh and that lady, with the attitude, sigh, anyway see good luck to all and God speed.

I phoned because I have to have a change of address done on my aprc. The last time I remember they kept my arc or aprc but I explained to them that I still need it. I have to file taxes, and change my address for many things and they need to see my ID for Taiwan at the same time. The man who answered the phone spoke English, he went to go ask the questions I needed help with and he came back with the positive answer to tell me I can still keep my current Taiwan ID until they have received my new one with my updated address. Excellent service. And they do not rest during the lunch hour. ??⭐

The NIA officer was friendly, and she went out of her way to ensure I understood everything regarding my ARC application.

If I could give them 5 poop emojis instead of stars, I would. I called the NIA office in Zhubei City to ask for help about the bank account and other properties that my boyfriend left behind when he was deported last year. The day before he left Taiwan last year he was told by the Zhubei Office that he could come back this year so he left his valuables behind. I went to their office last Friday to inquire about the new visa that he wanted to apply for in the Taipei Liaison Office in Cape Town and that’s when they told me that he couldn’t come back for two more years which we never would have found out if I hadn’t asked. Now I wanted to ask for help about what to do with his money in the bank and other properties that needed his signature, IDs and/or physical presence and then this pregnant immigration officer just started YELLING at me LIKE A LUNATIC and did not stop even after I told her I could hear her perfectly. She continued yelling and she was not offering me any help insisting that not informing a deportee that he has a 3-year ban instead of 1 like they said WAS NOT HER JOB. SHE EVEN HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME THAT MAYBE I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW IMMIGRATION BANS WORK BECAUSE I COME FROM a 3rd world country. That is just RACIST. I hope you can check on your officers in Zhubei and the way they treat the foreigners who ask them for help or advice. These are the same foreigners who pay for the taxes that pay for their salaries and none of us deserve to be treated the way she did. She behaved like a rabid gangster even cursing in Chinese with her colleagues in the background while she was yelling at me on the phone. And she is supposedly a federal officer. And she is supposedly representing the country of Taiwan.

I have been in this office several times to extend my ARC. And I was there recently again. Each time, it was really smooth. Get there with your passeport and passeport copy (they can copy it for you if you forgot), ARC to be extended, 1 ID picture, fill an english/chinese form, wait a bit for your turn, and pay 1000 TWD per year of extension. Then, you need to pick up your new ARC, within 2 ou 3 weeks. It is simple, efficient and people are friendly and helpful. I do not remember how it was for the first application, but renewal is truly simple. Thanks for this.
