10/10 worth the visit! Take your time to explore every inch of this museum. If your itinerary starts from very early, make this the first place you visit on your trip because you will need at least 2 and half or 2 hours minimum to fully experience this place, but take my advice on willing to spend at least 3 hours. There are so many things to see and absorb during the exhibition.
All in all, 10/10 and take your time when visiting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great art museum with free entrance. It has interesting collections and a very good gift ship. There are also amazing play spaces for kids of all ages. It's definitely a place to visit if you are in Taichung

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of my favourites of Taiwan so far. The space is huge and the building itself is interesting as it is already. The various exhibitions (yes, all contemporary and modern art) offer things to see for everyone. But, they stretch a bit beyond which makes this place really a must go see for art lovers. Check out the website for what’s on. And don’t miss out on the museum shop as it’s huge as well and offers nice products. And if you’re in the mood, you can finish with a bubble tea in the cafe in the basement (have in or take out), quite tasteful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favorite art museum in Taiwan. It’s not too crowded and quite. They have free locker from small to big, you can keep your luggage there. But the souvenir shop is not professional. They sell many things are not about arts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite disappointing experience overall. Most part of the museum was going under renovation, so we didn’t get to see much. And since it was going under renovation we could hear the sound of construction constantly. Also including janitor who was pulling her cart through the museum exhibit area creating massive cart sound which echoed through. Don’t understand how that is allowed here. There were far too many staffs here, and they were just chatting with their colleagues.
In conclusion, we saw zero management so I have to leave one star for this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always something interesting to be seen here. Between major shows today so not a lot to see this visit. One of the frustrating things here is the lack of perspective many Taiwanese art museums have. They fail to place Taiwanese art in the world art scene. They are overly inward looking. Even the museum book shop is boring in that it carries too many art teaching books and nothing from the greater world of art books. Maybe this is a hangover from 50years of marshall law.
