★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 創建於美援時期1957年 (1959年落成) 的成大舊圖書館，無疑是成大美援時期 (1953年至1960年) 最具代表性的建築物。
整個美援計畫又是在冷戰的世界局勢脈絡背景下發生，若承認1950年代美援對於近代臺灣各方面具有關鍵性之影響，成大舊圖書館必然是美援投入臺灣高等工業教育的最重要見證者之一。
 The Old National Cheng Kung University Library, founded in 1957 (completed in 1959) during the US aid period, is undoubtedly the most representative building during the US aid period (1953 to 1960).
The entire U.S. aid project took place in the context of the Cold War world situation. If it is recognized that U.S. aid in the 1950s had a key influence on all aspects of modern Taiwan, the National Cheng Kung University Old Library must be the most U.S. aid investment in Taiwan’s higher industrial education. One of the important witnesses.
