★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A definitely MUST GO TO place when you visit Taiwan. The place oozing with amazing History. The museum is literally a small village so going around it feels like going on a mini adventure.
For a good fee you can even try and venture inside the actual gold mine & experience being a miner for a day.
The place also have very scenic spots that enables you to seen the beautiful ecology of the place with all its flora and fauna.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I spent half a day here and enjoyed it very much. There were many things to do and see, the most fun would be the virtual gold filtering experience. I also hiked up to the Shinto shrine, the view from there was pretty awesome. Didn't bother to go touch the gold bar since the queue was ridiculously long. Bought separate tickets to go in to see the gold mine. Id say it's worth it since when else would you get the chance to explore a gold mine again aside from harvest moon?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I spent 2 1/2 hours here and I loved every minute of it!! The sites were so interesting! I especially loved the Japanese-style home and the tunnel. I also panned for gold- it's an extra NT$100 but you get to keep a souvenir of the gold you find! It was in Chinese, but one of the presenters translated it into English for me and she was wonderful! The gift shop was closed which made me sad. But don't worry, there is literally an on-site FamilyMart so you won't starve ? The Prince's Chateau is also under construction right now, and most of the restaurants weren't open. But the views were absolutely incredible. There were some tourists there but not very many. You can take a bus straight to the entrance. English translations on a lot of the signs, especially in the gold museum where you can touch a gold brick! Would totally recommend again and again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous place with great (and sad) history to tell, real mining cave to explore, very wide display of minerals and a giant gold bar that you can touch, well preserved traditional Japanese houses (that belonged to former Prince and mining director), abandoned shrine and great view of teapot mountain from there. Its worth the climb but can be dangerous for elderly as no handrail and stone steps are huge and uneven. Would recommend anyone to visit ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love how history is embedded into this location. With various locations to explore and see the beautiful scenery surrounding the island. I loved the peace and clean air. The hiking trail is really good for a good workout. The local food is simple cheap and taste delicious. Also getting to the top makes you appreciate nature at it's best and how the local community is carved into the mountain tops. Wonderful spot for sightseeing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Juifen is a pretty little town with a gold museum that sits atop the city. You can view mineral exhibits, the largest gold bar in the world, worker housing, and stunning vistas of jungle laden mountainsides overlooking the ocean. You might even get lucky panning for gold!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Formerly known as the Gold Ecological Park, Gold museum is a museum of the gold mining industry in Ruifang, New Taipei. I didn't get bored of the bus ride because of the very scenic views along the way. Wonderful nature experience too walking around many trails around the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its a nice place for family, couple or even solo. Get facts about history, minerals and gold. There is even hands-on activity from time to time and meal inside. Do take note its free for students, just show your ID. And plenty of cats if you love em.
