★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A cosy, no-frills homestay run by an Atayal local, Nien Chun and her Filipino husband, Noel. I found the homestay via Google Map whilst on a 4-day bike touring trip from Yilan to Wuling Pass. Warm and friendly hosts, Nien and Noel rent out the rooms on the second floor of their home whilst they live on the first floor with their son and daughter, a cute cat and dog. Guests have full access to the second-floor living room and separate bathroom and toilet. Guests can also sign up for a one-day adventure trip with them to a nearby river and lush forest to experience the Atayal lifestyle. Noel and Nien are also renovating a space in their home to open a new eatery. They currently sell fried snacks from a stall in front of their house. A good place to break your journey whilst en route to Lishan or Hehuanshan.
