★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed at Adagio Jinguashi twice and fell in love with the place. Since I am visiting Hualian, I thought it would be good to stay in Adagio here too. However I regretted my decision. First the drive down was extremely long and I seriously mean long from Hualian City area. It's really stressful driving into this place cause the road is dark and winding and there's no distinct signboard. Secondly the service staff here is not as hospitable and friendly as the staff in Jinguashi. When we arrived, they did not bother to introduce themselves to us, did not even offer fragrance scents for us to choose for our toiletries. When I enquire about nearby places to visit, all I got was a curt reply that there are 2 walking trails in the front and back of the hotel....how friendly!!!

Though the welcome explanation was far too long and failed to explain the window screens in the rooms.
The food would benefit from emphasising customer desire over the whim if the hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably the nicest hotel I stayed in till now. Fantastic view, great rooms, excellent service. If you want to "slow down" and relax, that's the place to go. Stayed here with my wife during our honey moon trip around Taiwan. I hope some day we can come back here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We didn’t actually stay in the main building but in a shack around the back, because we stopped here late on a Thursday evening of Tomb Sweeping holiday and needed a place to stay so I think it was the only room left. We were lucky to find it. It was overpriced but we were desperate because we’d been cycling all day. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and had aircon and hot water. Breakfast was included and was very nice, good coffee. It wasn’t a 4* room but good service.

Recommend to book dinner set which is tailor made exclusively.
