★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a Singaporean, very disappointed. I hope the owner is not Singaporean. If he is, I am disappointed how he modify the chicken to lose it authenticity as one of our signature Singapore dish.
We order half chicken, Bak kuh teh and laksa. First I talk about the chicken. How can you not add the famous sesame oil light soya Sauce topping for the chicken. Then the chilli sauce, where is the typical lime ginger garlic chilli taste? Rice is not too bad.. Close to our very own SG taste.
Bak kut teh, adding the shitakke mushroom is a mistake. Is way too salty, not herbs taste. For SG style, we usually take peppery taste. But they selling more of Malaysia style. Disappointed
For their laksa, the only choice that probably close to Singapore taste. But however too diluted....
If you are the owner, please keep close to your root taste and make our dish proud oversea. Do not lose 我们国的食物原点。加油。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The chicken thigh is good, otherwise it's ok. Sauce is delicious. But if you're from Singapore don't expect to find this place to your liking, Hainan Chicken rice is much better in your hometown

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not be fooled by the term “hainan chicken” rice or “sing-island”. Take it as Taiwanese modified chicken rice and you might feel better about getting something quite far from what you’re used to in SG.
Good portion of rice and chicken for the price. Chicken was tender and boneless, which was a plus. Rice was a tad undercooked, not very pleasant. Lack of fragrance in rice and chicken, very bland and unexciting. Everything tasted quite mild to me, even with the three sauces mixed through the rice and smeared on the chicken. Side veg includes one broccoli floret and a cherry tomato.
