The historical relics are placed in the glass house, there is a strange sense of distance, I hope the glass can be removed

When I was a child, I came here to see the steam locomotive. It is an open space, and you can carefully observe the design on the locomotive. Now it is placed in a transparent display area, which is very good for preservation, but when the sky is dark, the reflections cannot be seen clearly.

There is an audio guide service to introduce the history of Tengyun, but unfortunately the mirror reflection is serious, and it is not very clear to see the details inside

Take a look at Taiwan's first steam train and listen to its whistle and passing sounds.

[Tengyun] "Taiwan's First Train" & [Taiwan Railway No. 9] "Taiwan's Oldest Train" The Tengyun was one of two steam locomotives purchased from Germany by Liu Mingchuan, the governor of Taiwan in the Qing Dynasty, in 1888. It was officially named "Tengyun No. 1" at that time. Together with 7 other newly purchased steam locomotives, they are running on the Taiwan Railway between Keelung and Taipei~ After entering the Japanese Occupation Era in 1895, the Tengyun still continued to operate on the Zongkou Railway, and did not retire until 1924~ The Tengyun, which underwent major renovations in 1999, is currently on display in Taipei’s 228 Peace Memorial Park and next to the main building of the National Taiwan Museum... [Taiwan Railway No. 9] A six-wheeled water tank steam locomotive manufactured in the United Kingdom in 1871. Introduced from the Japan Railway Operations Bureau in 1901. At that time, it continued the Nippon Railway’s old serial number and used it as No. 7 on the southern line~ Although it was not Taiwan’s first railway steam locomotive during the Japanese Occupation Period, it was due to its older structure. In 1906, when the serial number was reorganized, eight locomotives, including the old Tengyun number of Taiwan Railways in the Qing Dynasty, were re-designated as "Taiwan Railway No. 9"~ Taiwan Railway No. 9 is not only the oldest railway locomotive produced in Taiwan, but also one of the oldest existing trains in Asia, so it is of great historical significance. Retired in 1925, it is currently displayed in the 228 Peace Memorial Park in Taipei City.

It’s two historic steam trains behind glass. It is good for what it is. There is a nice explanation of each trains’ history in Chinese and English, steam train sounds, and some lights that come on.
