★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everytime you go here they have two checkouts open with a line of people behind one person that wants to scan thousands of coupons. Unless you really need something go somewhere else to buy it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kind of the equivalent of Home Depot with slightly more emphasis on decoration and furnishings and less emphasis on DIY. Still, for fans of home improvement and just general DIY projects, hours can be stormy wandering the aisles. Also, this location (near Banciao) is a good shopping area, with Hola home goods and a hypermarket -- Carrefour as I recall -- in the building and Costco just down the street. However, as a major shopping mecca, it can be crowded, and weekdays are recommended for more leisurely shopping.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's almost like a B&Q back in the UK, but a bit more limited. Gardening section is pretty small, but then who has a garden in Taipei ? Also, couldn't find roberston screws, maybe you'll have better luck. Great access for the MRT though, but the subway sandwich shop is no longer there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This store is close to what I am looking for as a DIY store like Home Depot in US. I am planning to build a workshop in my house and 李芳亭 sales rep is able to spend time and find exactly what I want. I heard this store is now wholly owned by Taiwanese after British partner bailed out sometime ago. We need to have this kind of store around and encourage young people to spend more time creating projects of their own instead of spending time on keyboards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good chain store for all your DIY needs. This, as with their other stores, is adjacent to Hola, who do home furnishings etc, so the two are very handy when it comes to doing up your home (like Ikea I guess).
This particular store is a little hidden, as the front of the building doesn't give too much away in terms of what's inside, although if you look up enough, you can see the various company logos to let you know what's inside. You can see the Hola logo, but not the DIY store's logo. The store itself is located on the 3rd floor, so there are escalators or elevators to get you there.
