★ ★ ★ ★ ★ NO doubt that the New Hama is one of the very best teppanyaki restaurants in taiwan! I've been quite a few similar types of restauants around the world, it has to be one of the top ones in terms of the quality and price range!
Highly recommended!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reservations are a good idea on the weekend. You might also request to be seated with other adults if you go early lunch or dinner as there are a lot of family groups at the earlier seatings.
Service is speedy and good. The food is solid but a little pricey. Materials are excellent.
Lobster is great and the seafood overall is excellent quality abd cooked nicely.
The lamb is the best I've had in Taipei. The beef is so tender and cooked perfectly. Really really good. If you have pick between the seafood and the meat, the meat is a good choice. Wow.
Definitely a great overall experience for a nice luxury lunch or dinner.

The onion soup was overcooked, the dishes are all too oily and the desert is tasteless.
- Why still two stars? Because the lamb meat quality was not too bad. Still used too much oil for preparing it.
Beside that the service experience was still great.
All in all 1700 NTD, definitely a high price.
But the cp value is still too low and there better Teppanyaki restaurant options in Taipei,
Therefore all in all for me the first and the last time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably one of the best restaurants I have visited in Taiwan. The show cooking is just amazing! And the Taste was great as well! I highly recommend visiting this place. The desserts could have been a bit of a bigger variety but it really is not a big deal if you compare it to the actual main courses!
Next time I am definitely coming back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New Hama is the origin of Teppanyaki in Taiwan. Its dishes may be not that fancy but the dish design and taste are authentically great / balance. Lobster with cheese, clam soup, and the way they present the steak are awesome. We definitely will revisit this old friend all the time.
