★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place is overloaded with way too much memberships sold. Machines placed too close together , risking your workout. Will walk away when contract is over.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great, inexpensive gym in the heart of Taichung. It is located near Taichung Park and YiZhong Night Market, so there is always activity nearby. It is a friendly and welcoming community. The trainers and staff are always helpful and ready to have a conversation. Merry Gym has all the equipment you need to stay healthy and fit. There is also arial yoga which I have not tried, but I have heard good things about. An annual membership is inexpensive, and they have fair rates for short-term membership too. My only complaint is that it opens at 9am, when I would rather work out earlier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It would be a great place to workout but it's way overpriced and they are so precious about everything. I get it, you want equipment to last longer, but I was not allowed to step on 2.5kg plates when I'm doing squats. For whatever reason. Like I'm gonna break ithem with my 5' body weight. Resistance bands and area to strech can only be used if you have pt session too. Again, I staff didn't tell me the rules initially just when I started doing mobility stuff there. I felt like I have been watched all the time while I was doing everything just so someone from the staff can come and tell me what I'm not allowed to do. Eventually I found another gym in better location with much friendlier staff and cheaper price.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lots of cardio, but lacking on the dead weights and cable machines, although I believe they're opening up another floor after CNY 2018, so hopeful they'll expand in the right areas.
Friendly staff and reasonably priced for a year membership. Slightly expensive for 1 off work out session.
