★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was extremely lucky to be taken here by car. It is only 20 km away from Chiayi. The sea front is pretty clean and kids can play here. I was there a bit too early so everything was closed. There are some touristic boat that take to the sea. More boats during the weekend or holidays.
Nice and relaxing place if you have a bit of time on hand only.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The fishing harbor and surrounding park is suitable for family visit, and visitors can sit in the harbor benches to enjoy sunset and harbor ocean view. Dongshi Township tried to design the area as a family recreation area, including sand-based volleyball playground, sand dune for kids, and other recreation facilities. The whole area is often called "東石漁人碼頭" [Dongshi Fisherman Wharf].
The dining section is extremely crowded in weekend and holiday. It is NOT uncommon for the tourists to wait for 30 minutes simply for ordering their food.
There are sufficient parking spaces for the public and, in general, there are also sufficient free toilet facilities for the public.
