Jianguo Li is a mile under the jurisdiction of Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan. It is located in the area of Zhongshan South Road, Aiguo West Road, and Ketagalan Avenue in the center of Taipei City, covering an area of about 0.5086 square kilometers. The biggest feature here is many important government agencies including the Presidential Palace of the Republic of China. Historically, the area covered by Jianguoli included approximately one-third of the area of Taipei City during the Qing Dynasty. It also included Wenbu Town, Shuyuan Town, and Nogi Town, which were the center of the Japanese rule. In 1945, this area under the rule of the Republic of China was still where the administrative organs were located, and the buildings during the Japanese Occupation including the Presidential Palace rebuilt by the Governor-General's Palace were gradually restored to their original state. In addition to the renames of the official offices and official residences in use, the names of most roads in Wenwu Town have also been changed to politically significant streets such as Jieshou Road, Aiguo West Road, Zhonghua Road, and Chongqing South Road. The name of the neighborhood was changed to Wenburi according to the old name of Wenbu Town. In 1954, the area was subdivided into Wenburi and Jianguoli. The latter contained most of the institutions including the Presidential Palace. The origin of the name was the declaration of "anti-communist founding". In 1981, Wenburi was cancelled and officially merged into Jianguoli. In the late 1990s, Jieshou Road in Jianguoli's jurisdiction was renamed Ketagalan Avenue, and parts of Limingli and Longhuali were merged into this neighborhood. In terms of the number of households and population, Jianguoli now has 616 households, 6 neighbors, and about 1,617 people, making it the least populous li in Zhongzheng District.
