★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This old police station contains the "water jail." During interrogation, prisoners were shut into huge tanks that were filled with water. The building is being renovated and will be open to the public soon. I have been inside as part of a Datong walking tour. It is an interesting place and worth a visit when it opens.
