Wonderful! Lovely animal house with dedicated staff who respect their animals! Panchiao Animal House environment is quite cozy and familiar with staff-owned dogs and 2 permanent handicapped residents (1 in a wheel chair) running free - that gives the shelter a very home-like athmosphere. As a foreigner (Europe), I worked there as a volunteer. I loved it! During the week Tue-Fri (10:00-12:00 and/or 14:00-16:00) they could need more volunteers to walk or socialize the dogs! You will learn a lot about the different characters of dogs (and cats) while walking and playing with dogs in the 2 big walking areas. Experienced volunteers are needed to teach the dogs common commands. If you adopt an animal, please make sure you can TAKE GOOD and APPROPRIATE CARE! Love the animal FOREVER. Provide a proper home. Walk your dog every day and spend enough time with it! A lot of these animals have already been abondonned or neglected and should not make the same experience again. If you cannot deal with an adopted animal, the shelter takes it back (which is better than bringing it to another shelter as the animal knows the environment and staff already). I wish that some of the mid-sized and small-sized dogs had more comfortable cages, e.g. with a blanket inside. For some dogs, the metal cages are way too small.

Unfortunately not friendly ? and unwilling to help. We wanted to adopt a cat, but we were turned away for no good reason. We have raised cats for 30 years and yet they felt that we were not good enough.....

Great place if you want to adopt cats or dogs. It's almost perfect, just that the dog cages stinks a little bit.

Really great animal rescue centre. Good clean facilities, including large pet enclosure to walk with dogs, classroom & clean animal pens.. Well organised, & structured. Staff very helpful.

I saw a cat I wanted to adopt, but they wanted me to keep the cat in a tiny little cage for two weeks. Quite sad really. They didn't test the cat for feline AIDS and I couldn't take the risk of infecting my other cats. They refused that I take the cat to the vet to be tested first. The one volunteer was very kind, but the guy in charge had a rotten attitude. I've had lots of cats in my life, I know what is best for them. This place just made me feel like a low life who knows nothing. They are ignorant about real cat care.

We adopted two Kittens recently form this shelter. The staff are nice and patient, and they really want what is best for the animals. If you’re serious about adopting, make sure to go with a carry case as the animals get adopted quite quickly!
