Papersun Hotel

The room was very large and clean. The front desk staff went above and beyond on more then one occasion. It's a few blocks from the metro and in walking distance of one of Taipei's most popular night markets. I would highly recommend to friends and family.

The location is good. Decent walking distance to shilin night market and the MRT. The rooms are neat, clean and pleasant. The receptionists are very nice. The breakfast is not the buffet kind so there will be a person to serve you which is unique.

Lovely and sunny rooms! Nice bed , nice shower. Breakfast was a bit funny (who has hotdogs for breakfast?!) though. The hotel is in the heart of a residential area (at least it felt like it), but it's within a 5 min walk to the night market, which is a huge perk.

I was on a business trip, and my contact in Taipei booked this hotel for me. I have not stayed in this hotel before, and it was a pleasant experience. This hotel was converted from an old hostel of a now-defunct paper factory across the road. The room was not big, but the layout gives enough room for moving about; there's even enough space for me to place my luggage in an open position. The room was well lighted, clean, and modern. There's even a balcony. The bathroom was very spacious. The only weird thing is that the wash basin is outside the bathroom, in the room itself, so you'd have to come out of the bathroom to wash your hands. They have a wardrobe that's not big but spacious enough to hang several day's clothes; this is definitely a plus point compared to other hotels in Taiwan that do not even provide a wardrobe. The safe in the room was big enough to put my 15-inch notebook computer; again a plus point compared to many other hotels in Taiwan. There isn't a big mirror at the wash basin area; they only provide a small moveable mirror, which was rather inconvenient. The only full-length mirror in the room is inside the wardrobe door. Unfortunately, the position of the wardrobe made it impossible to open the door fully, so I couldn't even look myself in the mirror. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was served from 7:30 am onward, which is rather late. They don't have a buffet. Instead, they serve you a pre-determined combination dish (eggs, bread, bacon, fruits, salad, etc.) each day, while you can help yourself to coffee, tea, soup, bread, and soy milk. The combination dish changes every day, and they prepare the dish after you've arrived and sat down. On some days, however, I feel there was not enough protein. They gladly provided additional eggs when I requested for it, though. The hotel has a laundry area with two washing machines and a dryer, which was convenient for getting laundry done. The neighbourhood was quiet at night. I hardly hear any traffic. The famous Shilin Night Market is just 10 minutes walk away, so you can get lots of things easily. The nearest metro station is also 10 minutes away, so getting to other parts of Taipei is easy. Overall, I have enjoyed my stay. Would have given higher ratings if not for those shortcomings I mentioned earlier.

Its absolutely amazing fully eco-friendly Hotel and Cafe of one of my partners in Taiwan. They serve amazing sandwiches. Location is very close to Shilin Night Market that makes it very suitable for tourists.

Stayed here in May 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, for the mandatory two-week quarantine period. Service is top notch: the staff is very responsive and kind. Excellent menu for daily meals, and the gourmet coffee options are amazing. Very comfortable room: perfect king-sized bed, effective A/C, almost no street noise at night, and could not hear neighbors at all. I’ve had some of the best sleep I’ve had in months! I would recommend spending a little extra to get a room with a balcony (Sun Room). And I’d also recommend a room on the south-side of the building, where you can enjoy a beautiful view and hear the bird song in the morning. Taken together, the service, the food, the room, and the view made the quarantine feel more like a quiet retreat for peaceful reflection. Thanks Papersun!

I stayed in December 2021 during my two-week quarantine. The service was nice, the room was clean and large, the king size bed was comfortable and the balcony was sunny (I was lucky to get a room on the front side of the hotel). Everything was perfect, including the hearty breakfast and almost all the lunchboxes. The wifi was also working well.

Recently stayed theere for 7 days. Food for all three meals were terrible. Staff are pleasant. We stayed in a double-occupancy room. The room size is average; however, there are additional charges if you need extra blanket or pillows ($200.00 each). It was nice to have balcony. The room rate is way over priced. I DO NOT recommend this hotel.
